"We went to the Toronto International Art Fair on Saturday afternoon looking for our annual Christmas present (we decided to buy a joint gift of art instead of presents for each other). Last year, we found a very nice mixed media painting by Joanna Bell at the One of a Kind Show.

This year, we moved up-market and went to the Art Fair. It was a tremendous feast for the eyes. Imagine a huge room in the south building of the convention centre filled with art work of all kinds. There was everything from photographs to abstract art as well as sculpture. Prices ranged from a couple of hundred bucks to $300,000. At the top end, there were Burtynsky, Colville and Pratt prints as well as some wonderful paintings from various Quebec artists. For a full list of exhibitors, click here.

If I had a million dollars...

But, we don't, so we found a really good local artist called Ewa Stryjnik and purchased a couple of smaller works that will look terrific together. We were delighted with the experience and with our purchase."
